We started teaching bobbin lace in spring 2017. The guild owns 5 beginner kits, available for a refundable deposit for 6 months. We meet nearly every week for 3 hours, each person progressing individually. On this page are links to some of the hints and tips, as well as to instructional videos (not necessarily YouTube-worthy!) we have developed over time. The videos are listed here in some kind of order, but the other hints and tips are in no particular order.
There is also a proposed shopping list (<-----click here!) to give you an idea what it may cost to buy your own supplies, where to buy them, and how to choose them.

Sewings:
Having posted the second video (in 2021) without remembering I had already (2018) made a sewings video, and now watching both, I see that in the first one I started by pulling up a loop on the right bobbin, and in the second video I started by pulling up the loop on the left one. Guess what. They both work. Pick one way and use it consistently within a piece. Also, the first video shows it with a crochet hook, and the second with a Lazy Susan.
